Siddhivinayak Temple Timings 2026: Aarti & Tuesday Schedule

Tuesday holds special devotional significance for Ganesha worship across Maharashtra, and Siddhivinayak experiences by far its highest weekly footfall on this day. The temple compensates by opening at 3:15 AM instead of the usual 5:30 AM, and keeping darshan available almost continuously until 12:30 AM the following night, an extension of nearly six extra hours compared to the rest of the week.

Despite the extended hours, queues on Tuesdays are still significantly longer than any other day. Pilgrims specifically wanting a calmer Tuesday visit often target the very earliest hours right after opening, before the bulk of Mumbai's working population arrives later in the morning and evening.

The present Siddhivinayak Temple was built in 1801 by a local contractor, Laxman Vithu Patil, funded by a wealthy patron named Deubai Patil who had no children of her own and wished to build a temple where women without children could come and pray, a founding story still recounted by devotees today. Over two centuries, it has grown from a modest structure into one of India's most visited Ganesha shrines, drawing devotees, film personalities and public figures from across Mumbai and well beyond the city.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport is the nearest airport, about 10 to 12 km from the temple in Prabhadevi. Dadar and Prabhadevi, both well-connected local train stations on Mumbai's suburban network, sit within a couple of kilometres, making the temple easily reachable by train even during the city's notoriously heavy road traffic.
